Last week, Mrs. Rumler and Mrs. Snider's 1st grade class made working volcanoes with the help of some 6th graders.
Gracelyn Arvin is our first Black Belt in Band Karate. Band Karate requires students to learn various exercises to move up a series of levels (belts) to the final goal of Black Belt, which is at the end of our text: Traditions of Excellence. The program was started 4 years ago.

Baseball & softball team pics will be Apr 17 (before home game against Heritage). Softball pics are 3:30 at the softball diamond and baseball pics are 3:45 at the baseball diamond. Lifetouch is sending order forms. If it rains and games are cancelled, pics will be at the HS.
TO ALL 8TH GRADE PARENTS: The Trip to Springfield is Fri, April 5. Students need to be at the school by 5 AM. Bus will leave the school by 5:10 AM. (there will be a pick-up in West Union). The bus will wait for five minutes only! Please send at least $25 with your child so they have enough money for supper at Five Guys and a small souvenir if desired.
We should return to the school around 9:30 PM (there will be a drop-off in West Union). Students will contact parents once we pass Martinsville if they want to be dropped off in West Union. If the bus is delayed coming home for some reason, you will be notified via the school app.
Sat, April 6: Regional History Fair will be in the cafeteria at Hutsonville Grade School. Exhibits should be set up from 9-10 AM. Judging is from 10 AM-noon. Public viewing is from noon-1 PM, and awards will start at 1 PM. Projects must be taken home after awards are given out.

4/2/19: This is the last day school personnel will be stopping traffic to cross from school to Heartland Church. You may cross & pick up your child, use GS lot, or north lot. Starting Wed, there will be 1 school crossing zone which is the intersection of Main & 3rd. School personnel will be there to stop traffic for a safe crossing.
Community Prom: "Night on the Town" -- Mon, April 29 in the HS gym. 4-6 PM, 5th grade and under. 6-8 PM, 6th grade and up. Presale tickets: $4 for students, $6 for adults. At the door tickets: $5 for students, $7 for adults.

Beginning, Wednesday, April 3, students will no longer be allowed to cross the road at the church parking lot. Students will only be allowed to cross from N 3rd St where the crossing guard is located each morning and afternoon.
Spring pictures for PreK-8th grade will be Thur, April 4. Picture forms will be sent home with students this week. Students only need to bring the form on picture day...no money. Payment is due only if you decide to keep the pictures after you see them.
3/25: HS baseball game tonight is cancelled. There will be practice inside at HHS after school.
